Travel Diary: Hacienda Santa Teresa


Muchas veces nos hablan de las maravillas de un sitio, de sus encantos y su actividades; nos hablan de lo que puedes hacer y lo que te ofrecen, te enamoran con la idea y deseas algún día visitar ese lugar del que tanto te hablan; sin embargo, muchas veces esa idea se vuelve solo eso, un pensamiento. La Hacienda Santa Teresa era para mí ese lugar del que tanto me comentaban, pero soñarlo no fue suficiente para mí. Nuevamente, nos embarcamos en una travesía para conocer y aprender de los campos de caña de azucar de una de las destilerías del mejor ron del mundo.

En Aragua, Venezuela desde 1855 se produce, se fabrica, se comercializa y se exporta uno de los rones más reconocidos a nivel mundial, el ron Santa Teresa. Esta hacienda abarca una gran cantidad de terreno que es ocupado por diversos campos de caña de azucar y que se encuentran divididos por los famosos Chaguaramos. 

Durante nuestra visita a la Hacienda Santa Teresa pudimos conocer y recorrer estos campos y el proceso de preparación del ron; así como también la degustación de sus productos y la compresión del por qué en la Hacienda Santa Teresa se juega Rugby. Todo esto estuvo incluido en la "Ruta del ron". Un paseo que te invita a descubrir sus tierras y a brindar por todo el esfuerzo que se hay en ellas. 

Además de este recorrido, la Hacienda Santa Teresa nos invitó a disfrutar de sus jardines, disfrutar de su antiguo ferrocarril que era usado parar transportarse dentro de la hacienda de un lugar a otro y degustamos bebidas y comidas en sus instalaciones. 

Una tarde entre amigos y familia, una tarde con tu pareja, una tarde para despejar tu mente, conocer y aprender cosas nuevas, una tarde para apoyar un producto nacional que deja en grande el nombre de nuestro país a nivel mundial, la Hacienda Santa Teresa es un lugar increíble que no debe quedarse solo en los sueños y que se debe conocer para saber la grandeza de este lugar.

Porque más que un estilo de vida, en la Hacienda Santa Teresa se hace ron.

Often people talk about the wonders of a place, its charms and its activities; they talk about what you can do and what can be offered, you fall in love with the idea and you want to someday visit this place; however, this idea becomes just that, a thought. The Hacienda Santa Teresa was for me that place from which everybody talked, but dream it was not enough for me. Again, we embarked on a journey to meet and learn from the sugar cane fields of one of the best rum distilleries in the world.

In Aragua, Venezuela since 1855 is produced, manufactured, marketed and exported one of the most recognized worldwide rums, Santa Teresa rums. This estate that covers a lot of ground is occupied by various fields of sugar cane and are divided by the famous palm trees.

During our visit to the Hacienda Santa Teresa we could meet and visit these areas and the process of rum's preparation; as well as taste their products and understanding why at Santa Teresa, Rugby is played. All this was included in the "Route of Rum". A walk that invites you to discover their land and to cheers for all the effort that is in them.

Besides this tour, the Hacienda Santa Teresa invited us to enjoy the gardens, enjoy the old railway that was used to transported within the hacienda from one place to another and taste drinks and meals on their premises.

An evening with friends and family, an evening with your partner, an afternoon to clear your mind, meet and learn new things, an evening to support a domestic product that leaves big the name of our country worldwide, the Hacienda Santa Teresa is an amazing place that should not be left in dreams and that you must know how great this place is.

Because more than a lifestyle, at Santa Teresa is where rum is made.
