Hace mucho tiempo, recuerdo haber recibido un regalo de Navidad que no iba con mi estilo. Nunca usé esa prenda y terminó olvidada en mi armario, eventualmente busqué donarlo y darle una segunda oportunidad. Les cuento todo esto porque ya se acerca esa fecha del año donde la tendencia es regalar para agradecer y valorar a personas cercanas a nosotros o incluso a nosotros mismos.

Diciembre es un mes que para la mayoría no solo se celebra la Navidad. Es una época para convivir con los más cercanos, una época para dar gracias y una época para dar cierres y empezar nuevas metas. Sin duda alguna, esta época tiende a caer en la regla del consumismo y muchas veces hacemos regalos que no son lo que en realidad buscamos.

Ya hemos hablado del impacto ambiental y social que conlleva la compra desenfrenada e impulsiva de ropa, accesorios y elementos que pueden contener plástico. Es por eso, que debemos hablar de una forma más consciente y comprometida para regalar sin causar efectos negativos sobre nuestro entorno. Cada compra que hacemos marca una diferencia y saber qué y cómo comprar desencadena una serie de acciones que pueden ser tanto positivas como negativas para la sociedad, la economía y el ambiente; en todos los casos, lo ideal sería hacer compras que impacten positivamente.

APOYA LO LOCAL

Comprar regalos de productores locales es una forma de apoyar la economía local y reducir el impacto ambiental que pudo tener el producto en cuanto a distribución.

COMPRA INTELIGENTEMENTE

Hacer un regalo inteligente es comprar un producto que sea duradero y útil, que no contamine, que apoye una causa y que transmita un mensaje. Son regalos útiles o significativos con una carga de valor muy alta. 

PREGÚNTATE

Ya sea que vayas a regalar ropa o algún accesorio de vestir o para el hogar, pregúntate si quien lo va a usar les gustará. ¿Es acorde a su estilo? ¿Es de los colores que le gusta? ¿Es de buena calidad? ¿Es versátil? ¿Su producción fue hecha de manera ética? ¿Puedo adquirirlo de segunda mano?

A long time ago, I remember receiving a Christmas gift that did not fit my style. I never used that garment and it ended up forgotten in my closet, eventually I wanted to donate it and give it a second chance. I'm telling you all this because it is approaching that day of the year, where everybody make gifts in order to thanks and value the people close to them or even to ourselves.

Buying gifts from local producers is a way to support the local economy and reduce the environmental impact that the product could have in terms of distribution.

BUY SMART

Making a smart gift is buying a product that is durable and useful, that does not contaminate, that supports a cause and that transmits a message. They are useful or significant gifts with a very high value charge.

ASK YOURSELF

Whether you are going to give away clothes or any clothing or home accessories, ask yourself if who will use them will like it. Is it according to your style? Is it the colors you like? It's good quality? Is it versatile? Was the production done ethically? Can I buy it second-hand?
